Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15bis 912

This MiG-15bis carries two red stripes on the fuselage as a memento of the Czechoslovak revolution in August 1968. Some Hungarian military aircrafts (which were used at the time during the intervention) have been repainted in this way.

Photo taken at Aircraft Museum, Szolnok, Hungary.

The Mig-15 and the F-86 do look alike. It has been said, that the Russians and the Americans, had both acces to same R&D data regarding jet-powered flight, developed by the Nazis. Sounds plauseble. However, this will be denied by said parties, when pressed.
