Hawker Sea Hawk FGA.6 XE340 - vandalised
Seen at the rear of Cobham Hall, the FAA Museum Yeovilton's reserve collection, on 19 April 2013.
Flew with 802 Squadron from 1957 aboard HMS Ark Royal with the CO as pilot. On disposal it went to the now defunct Strathallan Museum and then to the RN Air Station at Montrose, the oldest military airfield in Scotland, where my father served before WW2 while in the RAF and attached to the Fleet Air Arm.
The wings are on the ground next to the aircraft, which, given sufficient time and money, may be refurbished.
