This is a full size replica, made by AJD Engineering of Ipswich, and commissioned by the late Alex Henshaw. It is in the configuration the real Mew Gull had when in February 1939 it was flown by Alex to set a new record for the out-and-home Cape class record, which stood until 2009.
The original aircraft was modified many times, and has now (6 October 2013) gone to Shuttleworth; the Trust there acquired it from The Real Aeroplane Company at Breighton.

Added by Peter Langsdale on 30 October 2013.
