Planes and Choppers
When arriving at St Petersburg airport in March 2003, I was warned by a steward on the aircraft, who had seen me taking shots through the cabin window, to be careful as I may have my camera confiscated if airport security saw me taking pictures when I left the aircraft. The following pics were taken with a trembling hand from behind the wife with my coat over the camera. Tupolev 154B-2 RA-85577 was built in 1983 for Yakutia Airline SAKHA AVIA. Yakutia Airlines was founded in 1993 as Yakutsavia and was previously a part of Aeroflot. It absorbed Yakutsky in 1999 and eventually merged with Sakha Avia in 2004 to form Yakutia Airlines. They operate out of Yakutsk International Airport.
