Noting that the N109W data base names it an ME 109, the Merlin engine with the upright V piston arragement and the large nose radiator identifies it as a Spanish made CASA HA-1112. This is the post WW II re-manufacture of the Bf-109. Also the low constructor's serial number would indicate it is not one of the 35, 000 Bf-109 aircraft made in Germany before and during WW II.

In reviewing my previous comment, I apologize for sounding too critical as this is an excellent photograph of the aircraft on landing approach!

I think that the comment was not that critical. You've made it clear that this plane was a different type then we thought it was...
Thank you for making that clear, and keep up the good work !! :-)

Yep, That Merlin also rotates the other way, in comparison with the DB 600 series.So?.Wel ill tell ye, pelgrim, the vertical fin, of the ME 109 airframe, has a enlarged camber, to ofset the P-factor.That reduces the amount of corrective rudder needed. Also no trimtab is fitted. This makes for a skilled pilot, to fly this contraption.Have fun on take-off!.
