The hosting costs of websites on this system have historically been covered by advertising. However changes in the way people use the internet, including ad-blocking mean that the revenues no longer cover the expenses. Before the 747 took over completely the North Atlantic routes from Europe, many aircraft called in at Prestwick to refuel and such an example was Air Canada's DC8-63 C-FTIR, pictured leaving for Toronto on a flight from Rome, in July 1973.
