Auster Aircraft Limited was a British aircraft manufacturer from 1938 to 1961, beginning life as Taylorcraft Aeroplanes (England). It was based at Rearsby, near Leicester, and produced large numbers of both civil and military light aircraft.
In 1960 it merged with Pressed Steel Company to form British Executive & General Aviation Limited (trading as BEAGLE). The following year it merged with F.G. Miles Limited (see Miles), initially as Beagle-Miles Ltd. The Auster name was dropped in 1968.
